(Bonus Track) Dexter Gardner  Side 1   Favoriting Last Testamony Of A Teenage Dope Addict  6:33  A disturbing local recording. My friend Steve Anderson found his yearbook photos. The first time you see Dexter, he looks like a happy smiling kid with his whole life ahead of him. Then, as the years pass after taking drugs the smile begins to fade to a more distant and despondent look. There is a reason I've never played this at record gatherings, but if I don't play it during this show, I don't know when I would. So sad.

Tell me about Francis Bacon. A painter?

I guess that you announce you're playing religious records and listeners scatter.

Hi BC! I love the cover of Turning Point!
Avatar 2:27pm
BC Sterrett:

Thanks Sonder :) I love hand written fonts as well
Avatar 2:33pm
BC Sterrett:

This record and Turning Point were a couple of the hardest records for me to find. My copy of Million Dollar Monkey is without a cover. I imagine someone who just wanted to hang that cover on their wall. I barely got Turning Point in my hands last week!

Hey Granny! BC, I see the price it fetches on discogs. Wow. Also, this show is kind of strange background music to work by haha.

it is an interesting soundtrack to my cleaning up some hand-me-down furnishings i just got!

It's an odd duck show today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:43pm

this conversation is direct and intense. Yes, Mx Granny, truth from the street. Individually true and scary when thinking how many thousands times more this story is true for.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

i get lots of inspiration from hearing folx who made it through
Avatar 2:45pm
BC Sterrett:

Because my copy of this was without a cover I didn't have to pay the $200 + price
Avatar 2:48pm
BC Sterrett:

I think I'm the only one of my brothers who didn't try drugs and alcohol. It seemed pretty clear learning from other's choices/ mistakes around me, not to, for me.
Avatar 2:50pm
Domenic:

Good for you BC.
Avatar 3:01pm
BC Sterrett:

I had to uncover his grave from dead wet leaves, thus the wet colorization. That was back at 2018.

Hey Blair!
Avatar 3:29pm

Mr. Fab, which one?
Avatar 3:35pm
BC Sterrett:

The censored needle on the cover of this one is part of the original art.
Avatar 3:37pm
Sonderangebot:

I have needle scars in my arms... but from doing too many medical testing studies, not drugs. :)
Avatar 3:37pm
Mr Fab:

We've had some fairly sophisticated operations come in - while one person distracts employees, others do the shoplifting and wait in getaway cars. But usually it's some stoner who walks out with something, and I ask, you didn't pay for that, would you please return it? And they're like: uh, ok...
Avatar 3:38pm
BC Sterrett:

Makes sense. I have a nice scar or two from when I used to donate plasma.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm

I think Art Pepper was in Synanon.

Avatar 3:39pm
Sonderangebot:

Have you seen the Synanon movie, BC? Wondering if it's "good".
Avatar 3:40pm
BC Sterrett:

Nice Fab. Yeah, we've seen a couple getaway cars. Last week the shop lifters were taking too much time and we had them locked in the store. They just brought their random stash and sheepishly said, "Uh, can you put these things on hold?"
Avatar 3:40pm
BC Sterrett:

Hi Rich! I haven't seen the Synanon movie, but I really want to.
Avatar 3:44pm
